Sing with me!!!

"Ohhhh, I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener."
We thought we were just making a quick trip downtown to pick up tacos for Jorge's dinner.  Little did we know that the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile would be parked out front!
Hope they don't mind that Damian touched it.
It is pretty cool looking inside.
Sorry about the non-matching outfit Damian.  Daddy threw on whatever, we didn't think you would be getting out of the car.  Also the reason I am not pictured!

Saturday morning excitment

A hot air balloon landed right in front of our house yesterday morning!  We didn't get outside to see the balloon in the air, but saw it while they were putting it away. Too bad, I would have loved a ride!

Newport Trip: The Aquarium

With the trip to the coast we also received tickets to the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
It was pouring rain when we got there but we couldn't pass up looking at the outside exhibits.
Lucky for us we arrived just in time for the Seals and Sea Lions to get fed.
 They do tricks!
I didn't know they did tricks as I have never been for feeding time.
See the Sea Lion jumping in the back?
Walking through the passages of the deep is fun, even those scary sharks!
 Underwater explore Damian!
 "Watch out behind you!!!"
Mommy and Damian love the touch and feel tide pools.
This was the coolest wood carving of sea turtles.
 Who are you calling crabby?

Newport Trip

Jorge recently started working at a new car dealership, Zamora Auto.  One of the perks the company does for its employees is trips for the salesman of the month.  Jorge won the last one which was an all expense paid 3 day/2 night trip to the coast.  We stayed at the Surfriders Resort at Fogarty Creek and had a fabulous time.
 My boys watching the sunset.
Charlie was recovered enough from his injury to enjoy the beach.
Damian had great fun digging in the sand.
Fogarty Creek Beach is beautiful, I highly recommend stopping here if you never have.
This was the best I could do in getting us all to look at the camera.
Damian loves his swimsuit, he kept pulling the top up to show me his belly button!
Practicing kicking in the pool with daddy.

Poor Mr. Wiener

Poor Charlie had an unfortunate accident yesterday morning resulting in him losing one of his toe nails.  On a side note Damian calls him Weenie, obviously much easier to say than Charlie.
Doesn't he just look so sad and pathetic.
I had to wrap it all up really good so it won't get infected and so he can't get the bandage off.
The next photo is a little gross.....look away if a tiny bit squeamish.

Poor Charlie.
It was hanging on by a thread so I had to snip it off.

Titanic Remembrance Dinner

Sunday night we usually have dinner with my parents and then watch the Amazing Race at our house.  As this past Sunday was the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of Titanic I decided to have an "authentic" first class dinner.  I prepared some dishes that were served in the first class dining room on the eve of the sinking.  It was a black tie affair of course, it isn't everyday that I get to use my fine china.
 My beautifully set table.
Grandpa provided the replica of the Titanic.
Damian and Grandpa looking quite dapper.
Yes I know Damian only has one shoe on, he kicked it off right before the picture.
Grandma was unable to make it due to a prior commitment, she was missed.
Our first course was an iceberg salad...pun intended.
We also had some shrimp and crab dip as appetizers.
Our second course was Chicken Lyonnaise with creamed carrots and Quinoa.  The Quinoa was not served on the Titanic, I just substituted it for puffed rice.  I forgot to take a picture of the nicely plated plate so I had to make one of the leftovers.  Dessert was homemade peach cobbler with with french ice cream and a glass of champagne to toast those that were lost.
I am assuming that the chefs on Titanic did not have a 17 month old a foot.  Hence why my pots and pans are on the ground...whatever keeps the little one happy and entertained!
It was great fun, I love a themed dinner.
