The force is strong with the child

Yummy in his Tummy!

When Damian hit the 6 month mark we decided it was time, time for some solids.  I chose avocado as his first taste of the good stuff.  Here is how it went:

"Well I am strapped in, now what?"

"Huh, what is this?  I shall put it in my mouth like everything else I encounter."

 "Mmmmmm me like!"
Avocado was messy, but a success!!!

Zoo Love

This past Wednesday we took Damian to the zoo for the first time.  The weather was perfect and for probably the first time I can remember the animals were actually active and visible!  Damian stayed awake the whole time we were there and was intently watching the animals, sometimes even trying to reach out and touch some of them.

What big claws you have Mr. Tiger!
I LOVED the giraffes!  They were being so sweet to each other, I mean how precious is that.
Addie is an ol' pro at the Zoo so she was Damian's official zoo guide.
What is sweeter than a baby elephant?!?!  The elephants were talking to each other and you could always tell when the baby would talk because it was a higher pitch, daddy elephant even let out a loud trumpet.  I have never heard the elephants be so vocal.
I think the cougar was a little hungry because he was pacing back and forth thinking some of us looked pretty tasty!
Addie decided that if Damian wasn't going to use his stroller than she had better, wouldn't want to waste a good pusher, and what a good pusher grandpa was.
I love bears and I have always wanted one of my own so I was thrilled to see the bears were active.  And boy were they.  Obviously these two bears were boys, because girls don't fight over silly things like sticks!

Poor baby bear was hiding out in the tree keeping out of the line of fire.
Don't worry no bears were harmed in the filming of this sequence, in fact afterwards they all meandered off to have a snack and a nap!!!

Catch-up

I have been a bit of a bad blogger the past couple of weeks and haven't kept up with my pics.  Here is a little of what we have been up to.
Despite the unpredictable weather we took a day trip to the beach.  It was windy but didn't start raining until we were headed home.
The Saturday before Easter Jen and I took the boys to an Easter egg hunt where they dropped the eggs from a helicopter.  It was crazy, chaotic and fun all rolled into one.

My mom and I took a trip to see the tulips before they disappeared.
We finally took Damian to the carousel.  I was the official picture taker since just looking at the carousel makes me sick :)  Damian really seemed to like it.  Doesn't he look like a little jockey on the horse!

A Royal Tea Party!

In honor of the Royal Wedding I hosted a Royal Tea to watch the big event live.  Hosted is probably a grander word then necessary since it was just my pops and I, but hosted sounds much more british.  Jorge, Damian and my mother were the smart ones and stayed in bed choosing to watch the replay later today.  Pop and I had a grand time dressing up, sipping tea and eating my homemade scones and cucumber sandwiches.  I made myself as feathery headpiece to wear, not quite as grand as Victoria Beckhams but fit for the occasion in my living room.  We had great fun watching the festivities unfold, the big reveal of "The Dress", and the pomp and circumstance as they left in the open carriage followed by the Royal Horse Guard.  A real life Fairy Tale.

Easter wishes

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter.  Here are a few pictures from Damian's first Easter.  We started the morning out going to church, Damian just loves hearing grandpa sing!  I understand that my son is only 5 months old and can't eat anything that I put into his basket, but I went all out anyways.  There were also some non-edible items in there!
He could almost reach the carrot!
Grandpa reading The Tale of Peter Rabbit to him.

Rollin Along...

Damian is on the move!  He rolls and scootches himself all over the place now.  The pets better watch out, soon he will be after them!
He really loves the blinds, he likes to make them swing back and forth.
